About us

The Real Room is a place to feel safe, supported, and seen.

Our approach

There’s no ‘back to normal’.
Just finding your way forward.

There’s no one-loss-fits-all

No two experiences of loss are the same.
Grief can show up in many forms — after death, separation, life transitions, or unexpected change.

In this space, there is no pressure to do it “right.”
We work gently, honouring where you are and what you need.

Relational Safety

A safe therapeutic relationship sits at the heart of this work.
It’s about feeling seen, heard, and accepted — without pressure or expectation.

From there, trust can build, and that’s where real change begins.

Healing at Home

Feeling safe enough to be real is where meaningful work begins.
You don’t have to filter, perform, or have the “right words” here.

I offer a space that is steady, respectful, and non-judgemental — where you can show up exactly as you are.

Our values

What’s important to us?

There’s no one-loss-fits-all

Sometimes it’s easier to open up when you’re in your own environment.
Your space can become part of the process — a place where reflection and change continue beyond the session.

All presence, no pressure

You don’t need the right words or a clear starting point.
You can come exactly as you are.

We’ll take it one step at a time, at your pace.

We do conversational, not clinical

There’s no need to have it all figured out before you come.
No expectations, no pressure to be a certain way.

We keep things conversational, not clinical — just real, human connection.

There’s light after loss

It might not feel like it right now — and that’s okay.
Loss can change everything, and finding your way forward takes time.

But slowly, in your own way, moments of light can begin to return.

Grief comes in many forms.
So should your support.

Grief comes in many forms.
So should your support.

Hannah’s story

The Real Room began with Hannah’s own experience of loss.

Seeking support, she found herself wanting something more - the right combination of compassion, conversation, and connection. So she created one.

Hannah’s understanding of grief has been shaped by her own experiences of loss — not just through death, but through the many quieter losses that life brings.

While studying to become a counsellor, she began to recognise how often these experiences go unspoken — losses that are real, but not always acknowledged as grief.

The loss of relationships, identity, roles, and even the life you thought you would have can all leave a lasting impact.

These experiences shaped her belief that grief isn’t one-size-fits-all — and that every loss deserves to be acknowledged, not compared.

This is what led to The Real Room — a space where all forms of loss are met with care, honesty, and understanding.

All presence, no pressure.
